10 tips to get you more sync placements!

Sometimes breaking it down and setting goals for yourself can really help focus on the things you need to chip away at each day to reach them.  Here are 10 tips to help you get closer to the mark in sync licensing  and get more deals, placements and earn more money.

1. Build relationships with music supervisors. Music supervisors are responsible for choosing the music that appears in films and TV shows, so building relationships with them can be a great way to get your music considered for use in those projects.

2. Submit your music to music libraries. Music libraries are organizations that collect music from various artists and make it available for use in film, TV, and other media. Submitting your music to these libraries can increase your chances of getting your music placed in a project.

3. Create music that fits the mood and tone of the project. If you want your music to be considered for use in a specific film or TV show, it's important to create music that fits the mood and tone of the project. This will increase the chances that your music will be a good fit and be selected for use.

4. Make it easy for music supervisors to find your music. This can be done by creating an online presence (website, social media, etc.) that showcases your music and makes it easy for music supervisors to find, listen to, and download.

5. Use social media to your advantage. Share your music and make connections with music supervisors and other industry professionals through social media. This can help you to get your music heard and increase the chances of it being used in a film or TV show.

6. Attend film and TV festivals and conferences. Attending film and TV festivals and conferences can be a great way to network with music supervisors and other industry professionals. This can give you the opportunity to pitch your music and build relationships that could lead to getting your music used in a project.

7. Get involved in the indie film scene. Independent films often have smaller budgets, which can make it more feasible for an indie artist's music to be used.

8. Compose music specifically for a film. if you have the opportunity to write music specifically for a movie, that would be a more direct way to get your music in the film.

9. Build a portfolio of music that can be used in different types of media. This will make it easier for you to get your music used in a variety of different film and TV projects.

10. Finally, don't give up. The film and TV industry can be difficult to break into, but persistence and hard work can pay off. Keep creating and promoting your music, and eventually, you may be able to get it placed in a film or TV show.

I hope that helps!  Good luck in sync 🙂
